Historical houseboat with soul and space
Do you dream of a home on the water with history, character, and plenty of space? The houseboat Elba is a beautiful tug boat from 1896 with origins in Frankfurt am Main, Germany. Over the past approximately 45 years, it has been used as a houseboat in Germany, the Netherlands, and Denmark.
The houseboat is a spacious and atmospheric home, where the boat's history is preserved while at the same time it is designed for a modern life on the water.
Spacious and cozy interior areas
The houseboat Elba offers plenty of space with a large and inviting kitchen and living room in connection with the salon, as well as a separate living room.
The boat also features three bedrooms, a large bathroom and a storage area with plenty of storage space, which provides excellent storage options and makes the boat extremely useful as a year-round residence.
The comfort has been continuously upgraded. The boat is heated with a newer pellet stove, and floor heating has been installed in most of the boat. Most of the windows have also been replaced with thermal windows in recent years.
Outdoor Areas with plenty of tyre space
The houseboat has spacious and practical deck areas with plenty of space to enjoy life on the water. There is great opportunity to arrange different living areas for the long summer evenings, morning coffee in the sun, or cozy evenings with family and friends.
The combination of the large indoor areas and the excellent outdoor spaces makes the Elba houseboat suitable for those who wish a different type of home with a spacious atmosphere and who also enjoy the special freedom of life on the water.
Hull, maintenance and engine
During the nearly 10 years of ownership by the current owners, the houseboat has undergone continuous renovation and modernization.
In June 2026, the hull was measured in thickness and the result was healthy. In the same context, the hull was treated with new antifouling paint. The powerful and stable Mercedes Benz engine makes the houseboat comfortable and easy to sail despite its size.
A special plus of the houseboat Elba is the large and capacious engine room. Here you will find a worktable and space around the installations, as well as room for tools, storage, and various projects. This also makes it easier to access the boat’s technical installations during routine maintenance.
Berth conditions
The current berth is not included in the deal. It is possible to leave the houseboat in its current location for a period of time, but the berth cannot be taken over by a new owner. If the buyer wishes to keep the boat in the Aarhus area, they must investigate the possibilities of starting as a guest sailor in other associations or marinas.
